General Hospital Spoilers: Curtis’s Pentonville Incident Triggers Painkiller Addiction?

General Hospital spoilers suggest that Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) Pentonville incident could trigger a painkiller addiction.

As fans may recall, Curtis is a recovering addict and was given pain meds while in the hospital during the Monday, September 28 episode due to his injuries after he was ambushed, along with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) in their prison cell. Is a relapse storyline in Curtis’s future?

Nothing Is Ever Coincidence

General Hospital spoilers note that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had a chat with Curtis before he headed to Pentonville. She advised him to he stay strong, be on his best behavior, and focus on his family while in prison.

Alexis had been to prison, and as a recovering alcoholic herself, she knew he’d be at risk for a relapse.

Was this dialogue a way to foreshadow what’s to come? It did help remind fans of Curtis’ past addiction, so there’s that.

As General Hospital viewers know, nothing is ever ‘just a coincidence’ when it comes to soap scenes and dialogue.

This scene between Curtis and Alexis may have been strategically placed in viewers’ minds as a nice reminder of what he’s been through, and what could be coming.

Curtis Ashford’s Spiral

As of this writing, Curtis’s injuries from the Pentonville attack aren’t life-threatening – unlike Sidwell’s. That could all change; however, there is a very good chance that Curtis is sent back to prison.

He’ll still struggle with pain, and may be given medication by the guards, so could he find himself needing more and more of these drugs during his recovery?

Maybe the guards refuse to give Curtis any meds, and an inmate comes along, and gives him something else for the pain?

As Curtis mentioned the inmate’s message – that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was behind his and Sidwell’s beating – could Curtis become a target in jail?

Could he get beaten up or bullied in the process? Curtis has two years before he becomes eligible for parole, so could he turn to drugs for solace?
