While guest editing BBC Radio 5’s The Emma Barnett Show, the Duchess of Cornwall spoke about her husband and how he’s been keeping healthy and staying in shape, despite the fact that they have been in coronavirus lockdown for the last several months.

Both Charles and Camilla have spent their time in isolation at their private estate at Balmoral Castle and it wasn’t until recently that they began making their public appearances again. But during their time in quarantine, the future King of England didn’t waste any of his time staying fit and active, according to his wife.

“He is probably the fittest man of his age I know,” Camilla said during the show. “He’ll walk and walk and walk. He’s like a mountain goat, he leaves everybody miles behind.”

And while Prince Charles is certainly watching his waistline and staying on his toes, if there’s one thing that Camilla has had a hard time convincing him to do lately, it’s ballet. The Duchess of Cornwall revealed that she has been dancing as a way to keep fit herself but has so far been unsuccessful in getting her husband to join her on the ballet barre.

“I did not get him doing a plié, but he is a very, very fit man,” Camilla continued. “But he is not doing ballet.”

While Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have spent the last two weeks meeting with NHS staff members and volunteer workers who have put in endless hours during the pandemic, they’ve remained close to their home at Balmoral Castle. So far the royal couple has made no indications as to when they plan on returning to London in the future.
