General Hospital Spoilers: Has This Actor Thrown In The Towel?

General Hospital spoilers say that for a lot of fans, they believe that something just seems off lately, but they can’t put their finger on it.

Clearly, we are talking about Sonny Corinthos and what some people believe to be a “lack of effort” made by his portrayer, Maurice Benard.

Has This Actor Thrown In The Towel?

While there’s no doubt that Sonny is a legacy character who has given fans memorable scenes over the years, some critics think that Maurice has or might be ready to throw in the towel. In other words, he could be just phoning it in after having spent the last four decades on the soap.

Whatever the case may be, Sonny just isn’t the same mob boss that he used to be and yes, critics have noticed. He’s not as intimidating anymore and instead, just happens to be doing what he needs to do in order to get the job done, but without the charisma he once had.

It goes without saying that many GH fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “ I do want Sonny to suffer and not get out of the mob scot-free. I hope these s/ls are still to come. But despite that, I will always love Maurice Bernard’s contribution to GH regardless.”

Another critic wrote, “I like Mo. I love what he does with mental health. And as much as I hate to say it, some of his best acting was his mental health issue stories. But I don’t want the actor in a bad place because of that.”

What’s Next for Sonny?

“He is given storylines he never loses so he has no effort to put in. He just shows up, whispers, and then that’s it. Winner winner.”

And then there was this comment as well: “A few years ago a Metro Court bartender mouthed off to Carly, so Sonny had Jason hold the bartender down on the bar as Sonny beat him. The beating was Maurice poking at the guy with his finger. That was when I realized just how bad Maurice had gotten with his lack of any effort.”

So far Maurice Benard himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.

Then again, GH fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
