Serena’s In A Bind

Serena’s in a bind, and most certainly the bind has to do with Deception Cosmetics and her surrogate mother, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) still trying to get more and more shares back.

It’s understandable that Lucy would feel robbed, since she was a cofounder of the company and now she has practically nothing-according to her.

The Quartermaines swooped in and took most of it right out from under her, over the years, and although she got some of it back from Brook Lynn Quartermaine, (Amanda Setton) she wants it all.

Serena was supposed to seduce Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) out of what shares he had in Deception, but she didn’t feel right about that; still, her mother keeps pushing her.

So, when Serena shows up at the Quartermaine mansion, she not only has a message for Jason, likely from her mother, she has a big ask; does he have any Deception shares to sell?

Why Does Serena Need Jason’s Help?

Jason isn’t involved in the Deception company at all, so what is the message from Lucy that Serena delivers; might it be to see if Jason will be willing to influence Michael to sell any shares he has?

Michael is the co-owner of the company along with Brook Lynn and Lucy, currently they have 25 ½ percent each, to Lucy’s 49 percent.

Lucy’s already the majority stockholder but she still has 1 percent less power than Michael and Brook Lynn combined, and it’s hard to get around Tracy Quartermaine, (Jane Elliot) the senior advisor.  

Serena is basically trying to broker a deal to get her mother back in total control of the company, and this is, of course, at  her mother’s request; however, if Lucy really wanted to be fair she’d do it differently.

Serena isn’t the only child Dominique Baldwin (Shell Danielson) had-she recently got acquainted with her half-brother Cody Bell (Josh Kelly); they both should be co-owners too.

Deception’s Complicated History Resurfaces

Deception Cosmetics was originally founded by Lucy, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Dominque, and Julia Barrett, (Crystal Carson) Brenda Barrett’s (Vanessa Marcil) sister.

Brenda was one of their first models, although there were many over the years-including Cody, for a short time! Jason’s sorry, but he can’t influence Michael, especially in something he knows nothing about!

The best he can do is give Michael a message to call her back-although if Brook Lynn’s at home, perhaps she could talk to her. Michael is busy with Aurora Media, and isn’t at home-Serena, still in a bind, will try later!
