General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Pleads His Heart Out – Gio Rejects Him & Moves In With Emma

General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Reassures Gio, But Can He Convince Him To Stay?

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) reassures Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) this week on the ABC soap.

But can he convince his grandson to stay and not move out?

Key Takeaways

  • Sonny insists he was framed
  • Gio struggles to believe Sonny
  • Gio and Emma plan to move
  • Sonny tries to reassure his grandson
  • Gio finally reveals his plans

Gio And Emma Are Moving In Together

Gio has been torn over his grandfather being blamed for the Pentonville Prison attack that badly injured Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

He didn’t know whether to believe Sonny after barging in on an argument between his grandfather and father, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

Dante wouldn’t believe Sonny, and after Gio talked to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), he decided he didn’t believe Sonny was innocent either.

Later, Gio and his girlfriend Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) tell Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) they’ve decided to move in together.

Gio also admits Tracy was right all along about Sonny not really going straight.

Gio Won’t Tell Sonny His Plans – At Least Not Yet

Gio won’t immediately tell Sonny about his plans with Emma, but he knows he’ll have a difficult time explaining why he can’t live there anymore.

Complicating matters is Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) warning to Emma that being with Gio could make her a target.

Emma remains undecided about whether Sonny was set up, while Gio knows there’s plenty of good in his grandfather despite everything he’s recently been accused of.

Sonny Reassures Gio

Sonny manages to reassure Gio and puts some doubt in his mind about whether he was really responsible for the Pentonville attack.

However, Gio still tells Sonny he can’t stay and finally admits that he and Emma are moving in together.

That may soften the blow for Sonny, especially after the painful rejection he experienced from Dante.

Sonny continues to insist that he was framed and suspects Vito Coronado (Jason Paul Field) and Sully Tucci (Sam Duffy) may be involved.

For now, Sonny can’t prove it, but Vito’s sudden disappearance certainly raises questions.

Annemarie’s Take

Poor Sonny is taking hits from his family for something he didn’t do, and Gio moving out will probably sting even if he understands the reason. The real fireworks may come when everyone finally learns Drew and Ava were behind the setup.

Do you think Gio will regret doubting Sonny once the truth comes out? Let’s discuss it in the comments below!
