General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) might try a last-minute save for Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) when faced with his being returned to Pentonville.
If she can’t make his appeal fly like she was sure that she could, to have the sentence vacated, she could try to have the sentence changed to house arrest!
Key Takeaways
- Monet could make a last-minute push for house arrest
- Curtis may face restrictions even if he avoids Pentonville
- A delayed or denied appeal could complicate his future
- Stella remains suspicious of Monet’s true intentions
- Monet’s rivalry with Jordan could threaten Curtis’ relationship
House Arrest – Curtis’ Record Not Cleared, But He’ll Serve His Sentence At Home
House arrest is a form of sentencing usually reserved for low-flight-risk offenders, and they have to wear an ankle monitor, but they would be at home.
Often, like on parole or probation, they have to check in with a law enforcement officer every so often as well, and usually their movements are restricted, so he wouldn’t be able to work.
It’s possible he could do some work from home, but it all depends on how the house arrest sentence is set up. He’d be given certain parameters with which he’d have to abide.
House arrest isn’t total freedom, considering Curtis would have some restrictions, but it may be safer than returning to prison.
As Curtis’ possible house arrest arrangement has already raised questions about where he could live, the change could affect more than just his legal situation.
And that is what Monet would stress, considering at least one individual, Sully Tucci (Sam Duffy), is still in Pentonville.
There’s A Possibility The Court Wouldn’t Accept Monet’s Appeal
There’s a possibility that the court wouldn’t accept Monet’s appeal, or that the court calendar is so backed up it would be months. She may still be able to push for house arrest under that parameter.
In that case, if granted, instead of waiting on the court date in Pentonville, Curtis might be allowed to wait on it at home.
He may be required to check in with an officer at the police station, or perhaps at a parole and probation office, or one may be assigned to check in on him at home.
Whichever way it goes, it’s Monet’s best shot at making sure he doesn’t have to go back to Pentonville, whether it be a court delay or an appeal denial.
Of course, Monet’s devastating news about Curtis’ return to Pentonville suggests her legal strategy may not be moving nearly as quickly as she’d hoped.
All They Can Do Is Wait To See What The Court Says
All Monet and Curtis can do is wait to see what the court says, and considering they told her he has to go back to Pentonville the next morning, her filing the request is a rush job!
Curtis is not going to be pleased if all of Monet’s efforts are in vain and he has to return to prison.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) probably won’t be surprised. She didn’t trust Monet from the start.
In fact, Stella’s suspicions about Monet surfaced almost immediately after she learned about the attorney’s connection to Jordan.
There’s still a lot of suspicion as to why Monet sought him out, although her fraught relationship with her half-sister Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) probably has a lot to do with it.
Monet had best not propose that she will be responsible for Curtis and that he try to move into her house.
That’s an obvious ploy to take Jordan’s man!
Annemarie’s Take
I really hope Monet can find a way to keep Curtis out of Pentonville! After everything he’s been through, sending him back to the same prison where he was nearly killed seems terrible. House arrest certainly wouldn’t be ideal, but at least he’d be safer while fighting his conviction.
That said, I still don’t trust Monet! Stella had her number from the beginning, and I can’t help wondering whether helping Curtis is really about getting back at Jordan. I
f Monet suddenly offers Curtis a room in her house, I’d say that tells us everything we need to know! LOL!
I want Curtis to get his freedom, but I certainly don’t want him trading one nightmare for another by getting caught in the middle of these sisters’ feud!
