General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that it looks like bad news for Ava Jerome (Maura West), but good news for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) this week on the ABC soap.
This week’s General Hospital promo shows Ava with WSB Station Chief William Baines (Alimi Ballard) confessing a rush to judgment, with Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) wanting to reopen the Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) disappearance case.
Key Takeaways
- Ava fears Brennan’s body will be discovered
- Joe asks Dante to reopen Brennan’s disappearance case
- Ava becomes a prime focus of the investigation
- Baines admits the WSB may have rushed to judgment
- Nina could finally be released from Steinmauer
Ava Got Really Nervous Last Week And Wanted To Move Brennan’s Body
General Hospital fans will remember last week, after being questioned by Joe, Ava got really nervous and told Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) she wanted to move Brennan’s body.
She was afraid someone would find it and link his death to her—and warned Drew she’d take him down with her.
But Drew declined, explaining in a graphic way what would happen if they disturbed Brennan’s shallow grave in the nature preserve.
As Ava’s dangerous proposal to move Brennan’s body demonstrated, she is becoming increasingly desperate to keep their secret buried.
With this being Halloween week, many fans expect Brennan’s body to be discovered, and it looks like it might—whether it be because of reopened PCPD or ongoing WSB investigations remains to be seen.
It’s possible that Outback may have finally finished digging for him and brought something back, as many times as Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) apartment door has been left open!
Joe Goes To Dante Wanting To Reopen The Case
Joe goes to the Port Charles Police Commissioner’s office to talk to acting Police Commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and Dante decides to open the case file.
Dante wants to know what Joe has so far, and he tells him “Ava Jerome,” from his previous questions to her in the Metro Court Gardens last week.
As the latest General Hospital weekly preview reveals, Joe’s suspicions about Ava could put her in serious trouble.
It looks like Joe wasn’t buying what Ava was selling, and she was acting very evasive—her lying skills have obviously gotten rusty!
Joe will tell Dante his observations, and then they’ll go from there—although, later in the week he’ll have some questions for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) as well.
But that might be because she was previously questioned, and he wants her to go over it again.
Baines Has Questions For Ava, And It May Be Bad News For Ava, But Good News For Nina
The next thing we see is Ava, and Baines approaches her. The background looks like somewhere in General Hospital; that may make sense, considering Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) comes to her rescue in Tuesday’s episode.
Afterward, Baines and Ava are seen in a more private area, although it doesn’t look like the WSB field office unless Baines redecorated!
A flash of a desperate and disheveled Nina is seen, as Baines says that they may have rushed to judgment. However, the promo leaves some uncertainty about whom he is addressing.
Meanwhile, Nina’s possible release from Steinmauer could become a major turning point in the Brennan investigation.
So, what it looks like is it’s bad news for Ava, but good news for Nina—Nina might just get to come home!
As for Ava, she’ll lawyer up right away, before the WSB even has a chance to replace Nina with her—but then, how is she going to take Drew with her?
Annemarie’s Take
I think Ava’s luck is finally running out! She and Drew have been sitting on Brennan’s body for far too long, and now Joe is starting to put the pieces together.
I would love to see Nina finally released from Steinmauer, especially since she was framed in the first place. But I don’t want Ava taking all the blame while Drew walks away!
If Ava is going down, she’d better make good on her promise to drag Drew right along with her. Now that would be a Halloween surprise worth watching!
