Mark Grossman (Adam) became the recast in 2019, with an open-ended explanation offered as to how he survived Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) cabin blast and reappeared in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Adam described a freight train trip to the gambling oasis. Suffering from amnesia, he tagging himself as Spider and became a professional poker player who was working under Riza Thomas’ (Tina Casciani) direction. Soap fans took note of the timeline gap, which allowed creative space that could always be back-filled at some future point in the plot.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Legal Jeopardy Persists

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) felt compelled to learn what the connection was between Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and Adam. She tried to schmooze the information out of both men before employing an aggressive tactic.

Adam and Chance took a joint trip to Vegas in order to address some concerns the dead man’s wife had. Neither normally sharp character was aware that Phyllis paid a waitress to install a digital listening device under the table at a bar on the strip where they were sitting, which allowed her to record their conversation.

As they told it, a suspect Chance was following came to lunge at Adam, who responded with deadly force. Both men didn’t report what happened, which put them in ongoing legal jeopardy.

Y&R Spoilers – Dead Man’s Wife In Charge

The dead man’s wife doesn’t know she’s a widow. Adam’s coverup plan, which Chance went along with, has the lady’s husband in the Witness Protection Program. Adam has been the actual source of generous monthly payments, which he thought would keep her at bay indefinitely.

Surely Y&R could connect the cabin blast to Adam’s arrival in Vegas. It could be that the widow was also a crooked character and that she had him purposely transported from Genoa City, Wisconsin, in order to mine his skills.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Offers Protection

But maybe Chance, while working undercover, rescued Adam himself, or was assigned to watch him after the authorities transported him to Vegas? Devoted viewers recall that Adam was fleeing justice in 2016, as orchestrated by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Riza is also someone who remains suspicious. Casciani’s character was Adam’s poker handler. Maybe she’s the answer, as this background character could prove key to solving this mystery?
