British royal family news teases that some quarters aren’t content to let sleeping dogs lay when it comes to Prince William, Duke Of Cambridges’ stunning COVID admission. Now there’s a conspiracy theory attached to his condition with former royal butler Grant Harrold claiming that the secret of Prince William’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis was intentionally leaked.

Why? He thinks it was meant to provoke the public to take England’s second coronavirus lockdown seriously.

The world found out in stunning fashion last week that William tested positive for COVID-19 in April but the palace kept the news secret. It was said that Prince William chose not to divulge the news to avoid national alarm. His own father Prince Charles and the British Prime Minister had also tested positive and he felt his diagnosis would send the country into a tailspin according to The Sun.

“I don’t think this would have come out if we weren’t having another lockdown,” Harrold told Insider of William’s admission.

Royal expert and public relations advisor Henri Estramant spilled to Insider that he thinks the acknowledgment was designed to underscore the gravity of the pandemic without “preaching.”

The Sun reported on Monday that William tested positive for coronavirus back in April and the world wondered what took so long in spilling the beans. The tabloid alleged that the reason was that William didn’t want to panic the nation.

He reportedly told one person, “There were important things going on and I didn’t want to worry anyone.”

Britain Is Now In A Second Coronavirus Lockdown And Not Everyone Is Pleased

The UK will be in its second lockdown until December 2. Boris Johnson announced on Saturday that England would go into lockdown from November 5 until December 2 and many were not pleased with the edict.

Nonessential stores, restaurants, and pubs are shut for at least a month and there is a strict ban on how many individuals can congregate together. Needless to say, this has all thrown an unwelcome wrench into the holiday planning.

Estramant said, “William is quite healthy so this shows how serious it is. If a young man, a former pilot who is healthy and active had problems breathing then it shows other people can suffer too.”
