CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is a prime suspect in the near shooting of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and the wanted man could do something drastic now that he has a target on his back. Genoa City is all abuzz with rumors about who would want Adam dead (really though, who wouldn’t?) and Billy is starting to feel as if he could be the fall guy.
Would Billy (Jason Thompson) actually shoot Adam? (Mark Grossman) Probably not, at least he himself wouldn’t get his hands dirty, but he may have hired someone to do the job for him. That’s why Billy needs to lawyer up and it looks like Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) has her hands full repping him as a corporate lawyer and as a personal attorney.

Thompson talked to Soap Opera Digest about his current storyline saying that “If Adam wasn’t in town, Billy feels there would be a lot less trauma for everybody.”
“Adam causes a lot of damage to people Billy cares about.”

According to Thompson, Billy does not initially think that he has anything to worry about. But then he keeps getting questioned about his involvement in Adam’s near-death and he starts to realize his bum in on the line. Does he even have an alibi?
For instance, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) confronts him about having her man shot. He tells her that one day long ago he may have been culpable but not now.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Who tried To Shoot Adam Newman?
Next GCPD detective Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) questions him about the incident. Rey has reason to be concerned that Billy could be the shooter given his past history and bad blood with Adam. Rey’s intense interest does not escape Billy’s notice and that’s when he starts to think about lawyering up.
As Thompson notes, “Things start to unravel for Billy and he definitely finds himself in hot water—and at this point, he’s the lobster.”
What do you think Y&R fans, did Billy have something to do with Adam’s being shot at? He has a lot of motive, means, and intent—will he find himself the number one suspect, and if so will he be able to wiggle himself out of a dire situation?
