Recast news always comes with mixed feelings from fans; however, considering that the show hasn’t been on the air that long, the backlash from viewers has been interesting.
Maurice Johnson Is Loved By Fans
The news hit late last week that Robinson would be replacing Johnson, and fans on social media have let it be known that Maurice will be missed.
Beyond the Gates viewers have been posting and reposting well wishes on the social media platform X, and Johnson has been retweeting these posts. In fact, his X page is filled with fans offering support and showing their love for the OG Ted Richardson.
In an X post, Johnson wrote, “Sorry, Beyond the Gates fans. You’ll have 30+ more episodes to see if Dr. Ted ever goes shirtless.”
Maurice added, “Thanks for the love and blowing the internet up over the weekend about ya boy!”

Johnson also posted something on X on Tuesday, March 25. He tweets, “From top to bottom of the call sheet it’s been a pleasure making history and magic with this cast!”
Johnson noted, “Many have become family, and that’s what I enjoy the most about each tv or movie that I do! #4 -Ted #TeamBTG #BeyondTheGates #cast #Top20”
The post had a photo of BTG’s cast call sheet, in which he landed on the #4 spot.
Does this mean Johnson has filmed his last scenes on Beyond the Gates? Should fans expect to see Robinson in Fairmont Crest sometime in late April or early May? Only time will tell!
