Recently, the talented cast—Daphnée Duplaix, Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, and Karla Mosley—enjoyed a vibrant moment in the spotlight. They not only introduced their intriguing characters but also extended heartfelt congratulations to a stellar array of nominees worthy of recognition.

A heartfelt message was shared during the recent announcement of the 56th NAACP Image Awards nominations.

The talented actors portraying the Dupree family on the soap  took a moment to introduce themselves and their roles while extending warm congratulations to all the nominees for the upcoming 2025 celebration.

In the engaging video, Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnée Duplaix, and Karla Mosley presented their introductions. “We are thrilled for each and every one of you and can’t wait to join in the celebration-we’re the cast of the new CBS daytime drama, Beyond the Gates,” began Tunie.

Tamara Tunie is  renowned for her memorable portrayal of Dr. Melinda Warner on NBC’s beloved series Law & Order SVU.

Tamara Tunie continued, “I’m Tamara Tunie, and I have the privilege of playing Anita Dupree, the wonderful matriarch of the Dupree family.”

Clifton Davis then introduced himself with a friendly smile, stating, “I’m Clifton Davis, and I play the family patriarch, Vernon Dupree.” He is well-known for his roles in the classic sitcom Amen, as well as in Billions and Blue Bloods, paving the way for the next cast members.

The focus then turned to the Dupree daughters; “I’m Daphnée Duplaix, and I play the oldest daughter, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson,” she said, referencing her time on One Life to Live. Lastly, Karla Mosley took her turn. “I’m Karla Mosley, and I play the youngest daughter, Dani Dupree.”

Mosley, a former star of The Bold and the Beautiful, went on to emphasize the upcoming premiere of The Gates. “Mark your calendars for our show’s debut on February 24, a Monday, on CBS—just two days following the live broadcast of the 56th NAACP Image Awards on BET.”

It fell to Davis to clarify the significance of the Duprees within the context of the new soap opera. “We represent a formidable multi-generational family. This is the essence of Black royalty.”

Beyond The Gates Spoilers – About The NAACP Image Awards

The announcement of the nominees for the upcoming NAACP Image Awards, set to air live on February 22, coincided with an important message.

The Image Awards are a celebration of Black excellence, recognizing exceptional achievements across television, film, music, and more.

In the meantime, “Beyond the Gates” is being developed and produced by CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, under the leadership of Sheila Ducksworth, in collaboration with P&G Studios, a branch of Procter & Gamble.

The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, with Michele Val Jean serving as an executive producer and the head writer.  Again, this innovative soap opera is set to premiere on CBS on February 24, 2025, at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT.
