Beyond the Gates Spoilers: New CBS Soap Shares BTS Video On X Before Historic Premiere

Beyond the Gates (BTG) is about to make history, as the first soap opera to premiere in over 25 years.

Still, before fans finally get a taste of the drama coming out of the fictional affluent Maryland suburb, the soap released a behind-the-scenes video on social media where the cast and creator talk about the enormity they feel on the cusp of the show’s debut.

This Is Groundbreaking For The Industry

The video opens with cameras snapping during some cast photo shoots, as it features a “behind the scenes” look at the stars of BTG, in their natural element.

Quite a few of these new daytime stars comment within the video, including Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Dupree Richards) who notes that Beyond the Gates is “groundbreaking for everyone in the industry.”

Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree) echoes the sentiments and calls the soap’s debut a “historic moment” in daytime TV. Meanwhile, newcomer Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa McBride) points to the landmark of Michele Val Jean becoming the first person of color to create a daytime drama.

Michele Val Jean’s Vision Has Come Alive

Speaking of Val Jean, she also has an opportunity to express her feelings on Beyond the Gates’ debut, noting, “I’ve been living with this world in my head, so when I got here there were faces to the characters, sets, and so much hair!” It’s got to be rewarding watching her dream come to life!

Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), chimes in the BTS video, enthusiastically saying, “It’s exciting!” As veteran actor Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree) reveals how wonderful it is to have a predominantly Black cast and the struggles he faced in the 1970s, stating, “Now we have African American writers, and it lifts my spirit to see how many advancements African American professionals have made in the industry.”

The video highlights most of the cast and talks a bit about the center of storylines, the Dupree family. With fresh stories, new ideas, and a stellar and strong cast, BTG is sure to deliver compelling drama, romance, and a little chaos along the way, when the new soap finally drops on CBS on Monday, February 24 at 2 p.m. ET.
