Smitty Smith Is Ashamed
Beyond the Gates spoilers for Tuesday, October 13, hint that Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) will wait on a major development. Is this about his congressional campaign or Smitty’s case?

Meanwhile, his better half will feel some shame. Will Smitty’s implication in Lia Whitmore’s (Cecelia Specht) investigation hit the news?
Smitty is used to being the one writing articles on accused murderers, not being the one written about, so how will he react?
Smitty has already faced some troubling developments in Lia’s investigation, so this could make matters even worse.
Speaking of the case, Naomi Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) will shut down Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges).
She’s doing her best to defend Smitty, despite going up against her husband, so how hard will these two clash?

Nicole Dupree Crashes Out
Across town, Nicole will change her stance on Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson). Ted’s engagement to Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) will rub Nicole the wrong way.
Will she give Ted the cold shoulder in the aftermath? These two have just started to become friends since their divorce, so this could set them back considerably.
Ted and Shanice’s romance has already caused some uncomfortable moments, and their engagement could create even more tension.
Over at the hospital, Shanice will feel overwhelmed; however, Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) will be there to help boost her confidence.
Carlton Fitzgerald Is Shaken
Elsewhere, Beyond the Gates spoilers for October 13 imply that things will take a creepy turn for Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones) and Carlton.
The weekly promo shows them together in bed as Heather pulls out a knife to slash open his shirt in the heat of the moment.
Carlton will be shaken by the move, but will Heather brush it off as having some unorthodox fun in bed?
Lastly, Samantha Richardson-Smith (Najah Jackson) will issue Tyrell Richardson-Smith (Jaden Lucas Miller) a challenge.
She’s not happy with his new girlfriend, Francesca “Chessy” Belleclaire (Madison Alsobrook), since the two girls were rivals during the cotillion.
Will she encourage Tyrell to “test” Chessy? Chessy has claimed she’s changed for the better, but has she?
Annemarie’s Take
I think Smitty has enough problems without his name being dragged through the headlines. And Naomi defending him while Jacob investigates could cause some serious problems in her marriage.
As for Nicole, I can understand why Ted’s engagement might sting, even if they’ve both moved on.
But Heather pulling a knife out in the bedroom? That’s certainly one way to scare someone! I wouldn’t blame Carlton for being completely horrified.
What do you think? Will Smitty’s case become public, and should Carlton be worried about Heather’s behavior?
