Beyond The Gates Spoilers: What’s Martin Richardson’s Big Secret – 3 Top Theories

Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) has a major secret he doesn’t want anyone to find out about.

In fact, for reason or another, instead of turning to his parents, Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) and Nicole Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix), he went to grandparents Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) for help, and now all three are desperate to keep things hidden.

Plus, somehow, Bill Hamilton (Timon Durrett) is wrapped up in this mess, too.

BTG fans have been buzzing about what Martin did, and the reason why he’s terrified over his husband, Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) and the rest of the world finding out. Here are three theories.

Theory #1 – A Drunk Driving Accident

One major component of this all is the violent dreams Martin has about his “secret”. There seem to be police cars around, and things are dark; however, it does look like the scene of the crime is ‘outside’. Could Martin have gotten drunk and decided to drive?

Did the accident take someone’s life? It’s hard to tell exactly when this “secret” occurred, whether that be during his teen years or possibly after he became a congressman.

Theory #2 – Did Martin Aggressively Un-alive Someone (By Accident or Otherwise)?

During the earlier episodes of Beyond the Gates, there was a lot of talk about ‘violence’ and Vernon making it clear to Martin that ‘violent acts’ are never the way. Maybe Martin wasn’t in an accident but had a heated confrontation with someone.

Despite both Smitty and Tyrell Richardson’s (Jaden Lucas Miller) asking Martin to stay out of the “bullying issue” recently, Martin still went to the school. Was this because he was worried about Tyrell getting wrapped up in a situation he was once in, and crossing a line?

Could Martin have gotten into a fight with someone, and by accident, he ended up un-aliving them?

Theory #3 – The Worry Is More About “Who” Martin Hurt

Despite everyone giving the thumbs up for Samantha Richardson’s (Najah Jackson) modeling career, Martin said ‘no’ to the idea. There’s got to be a reason he doesn’t want her in the spotlight.

Much like Anita and Vernon don’t want any major attention, Martin’s way if he decides to run for U.S. President, Martin may be protecting Samantha for his own reasons.

Whether it was an argument or a car crash, could Martin have accidentally – or otherwise – killed the twins’ parents? Is this the reason why everyone is so desperate to keep this secret?

After all, how bad would it look on Martin if he ended up adopting the twins because their parents had passed away – two deaths that he caused?
