CBS Includes Beyond The Gates’ In Black History Month SpecialBeyond the Gates (BTG) has yet to debut; however, this doesn’t mean the show can’t be honored for the groundbreaking premiere that is about to occur.

Not only is it the first daytime drama to enter the airwaves in over 25 years, but the show also happens to be the first-ever hour-long Black-centric soap. This makes it no surprise that CBS plans to include BTG in its Black History Month special, set to air this week.

On TV: A Black History Month Special

In conjunction with Entertainment Tonight, CBS is airing ‘On TV: A Black History Month Special’ showcasing the icons and legends who paved the way for Black actors, actresses, directors, and others in the entertainment business.

CBS dropped an incredible promo on Facebook highlighting this special television event set to air on Monday, February 17 at 8 p.m. ET.

Of course, along with other incredible Black trailblazers in the industry, BTG will be a part of this amazing event. Hosted by ET’s Kevin Fraiser and Nischelle Turner, the special aims to acknowledge Black excellence on television.

BTG’s Creator & Head Writer Is Over The Moon

BTG’s Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) is showcased in the promo, during a clip where she’s being interviewed, next to Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), as she emotionally states, “Representation really matters”.

Mosley is also shown hugging a colleague behind the scenes on BTG, and the entire cast is highlighted as they cut a bow behind a promotional poster for the show.

BTG’s Creator, Head Writer, as well as one of the show’s Executive Producers, Michele Val Jean posted about the CBS special, uploading the promo video. In the caption, she writes, “Look! We’re in this! I had no idea. #BeyondTheGates #BTG #CBS #Feb24”

During the week of February 17-24, fans will also get an introduction to BTG via another CBS special called, ‘Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood’. Viewers will get a sneak peek of the soap, an intro to characters, and tons of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.

The f30-minute specials, also hosted by ET, will air from 2:00-2:30 p.m. ET daily, with classic episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) after each show.
