Everything to Know About About Beyond the Gates Daphnée Duplaix

Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that the upcoming American soap opera was created by Michele Val Jean and debuts on CBS in February 2025.

The series is the second daytime soap to feature an African-American cast (Generations was the first in 1989) and the first soap to debut on a major broadcast network since Passions did so in 1999.

Both of those shows are off the air, and hopes are high that BTG will succeed where they failed. Here’s what to know about the exciting new show as we await its debut.

Soap vet Daphnée Duplaix plays Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson after playing Valerie Davis on NBC’s Passions and Rachel Gannon on ABC’s One Life to Live.

Her credits include multiple films and TV shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Wayans Bros., Half & Half, City Guys, and Joss Whedon’s vampire spinoff Angel.

Duplaix was born in New York City and modeled and did commercials prior to her daytime debut. Along with Kimora Lee Simmons she hosted a music and pop culture series called One World Music Beat.

BTG – Daphnée Duplaix Plays Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson

You can check out Duplaix’s Instagram for insight into the beautiful and talented actress. In a recent post she wrote: “Over the past two years, I was tested more than ever. I lost a lot, but I also won. I failed, I cried, I learned, and most importantly through it all, I loved.”

She added “My biggest lesson…I’m still here; I did not break. Every obstacle became an opportunity for growth. Every setback a lesson in perseverance and resilience. No matter the hurdles, keep moving forward.”

She ended the post on a positive message saying “To anyone facing struggles, remember: even in the toughest of times,, you are stronger than you realize. After learning more about Duplaix, we’re looking forward more than ever to seeing her on the small screen. Her character, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, is the oldest daughter of Anita and Vernon, and she has a sister named Dani.

Nicole is married to a surgeon and she’s described as a high-achiever, competitive, warm, empathetic, and compassionate.

It sounds like Dr. Dupree Richardson is a character we want to root for, someone whose life is high-flying, but as we know there are always struggles on the horizon. Beyond The Gates premieres on CBS on February 24, 2025.
