It’s daytime history in the making, and now there’s more reason to get excited there is a buzz about a seasoned soap writer joining the Beyond the Gates writing team.
Beyond The Gates Spoilers – Ron Carlivati’s Name Has Been Thrown Around On Social Media
According to X user, The Gatekeepers Podcast – @TGKPod – former Days of Our Lives (DOOL) Head Writer, Ron Carlivati has joined the Beyond the Gates writing team.
The user posted a tweet this week stating that, “We have some interesting behind the scenes news. Former #Days of our lives, #GH and #Oltl head writer Ron Carlivati has joined the writing staff of #BeyondTheGates”
It was announced that Carlivati had left his head writing position at DOOL in July of this year and was replaced by Jeanne Marie Ford and Paula Cwikly; so jumping on the Beyond the Gates ship would be perfect timing for the experienced sudsy writer. Reports indicate that Carlivati’s Days shows will air through to April 2025, and then the content Cwikly and Ford have written will take over.
Beyond The Gates Spoilers – Ron Carlivati’s Soapy Expertise
Carlivati began writing for soaps when he entered the role of writer’s assistant in 1996 for One Life to Life (OLTL). Over the years he got promoted to script writer on the show, the breakdown writer, until he eventually became co-head writer in May 2007 and then head writer for the daytime drama in 2007.
He left OLTL in January 2012, heading to the land of Port Charles to become General Hospital’s (GH) head writer in February of that year. He exited GH in 2015 and landed the Days’ head writer position in July 2017.
Over the years, Carlivati has snagged numerous awards for his soapy work including the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for OLTL in 2008 and the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in 2018 for Days.
It’s important to note that nothing has been confirmed by Beyond the Gates or Carlivati as of this writing.
