Jordi Vilasuso’s Beyond The Gates Debut – His Character, His First Episode + More

Beyond the Gates spoilers note that since early January, fans have been buzzing over the news about The Young and the Restless alum Jordi Vilasuso’s debut on the CBS soap. CTS now has the scoop on his character’s name, first airdate, plus more. See below for details.

Who, What, Where, When & How

According to TV Insider, Vilasuso will be playing Grayson Perez, a lab technician with a good heart who works at the hospital. His debut will take place on Tuesday, January 13.

Vilasuso states in his TV Insider interview that his new BTG character has, “ …been raised by a single parent for some time.” He goes on to state that, “… and now the roles have changed because he has to take care of his mother.”

The actor notes that his character will go to “great lengths” to take care of his mom, and he adds, “I’ll just leave it at that.”

Time To Sizzle

BTG spoilers suggest that Grayson will have a sizzling storyline with Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob), so it sounds like the nurse will finally get some real romance in her life.

Vilasuso tells TV Insider that Jen Jacob is “super-talented,” and that when he did the chemistry read, he got very excited. He notes in his interview that,I was like, ‘Wow, this would be so great. If I get to work with her, I’m going to be happy.’ And it worked out.”

The actor goes on to say that Jacob is “… such a pro, works very hard, and I’ll be honest, that hasn’t always been the case with costars, and that just makes the dynamic a lot of fun, and makes coming to work great.”

Vilasuso is best known for his run on the Y&R from 2018 to 2022, playing Rey Rosales. He was also on Days of Our Lives, from 2016 to 2017, in the role of Dario Hernandez.

The soap vet began in daytime drama on Guiding Light, playing Tony Santos from 2000 to 2003, and was also on All My Children (AMC) as Griffin Castillo (on and off) from 2010 to 2013.

The actor is a Daytime Emmy Award winner, snagging the statue in 2003 for his Guiding Light work in the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
