Fussy Baby
Don is not only a seasoned actor but also an experienced father. So, when the infant playing baby Kelly started to fuss, he panicked. He recalled feeling anxious knowing the producers wanted to wrap up the day, so he did the only thing he knew to do—put the baby on his shoulder and soothed him (it was a boy baby) before the infant cried.

It Worked
After it was said and done, Diamont saved the scene and the baby didn’t cry. He claimed he heard a slight whimper, but no one else heard it.
“The speech I had was long and emotional, so half my brain was trying to figure out how to deal with the fussy baby and the other half was focused on the script. However…I wasn’t going to let a fussy baby ruin the scene, “ Diamont recalled.
Don said he knew from when his kids were babies that once they get to the point of crying, it will take a long time to get the child to the point of letting him hold him again, so he did the only thing he knew to do—put the baby on his shoulder and soothe him with gentle sounds and movement.
“It was a unique dad skill I needed for this particular scene,” Diamont laughed.
