Bold and the Beautiful News: Jacob Young, Former Rick Forrester, Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Bold and the Beautiful [B&B] Jacob Young [former Rick Forrester], has gone country. The actor, songwriter, and musician shared his new look on Instagram recently. It’s one of many new looks fans have seen from Jacob since his departure from the CBS daytime drama.

Dropped to recurring status in April 2018, the last time B&B fans saw the dapper young Forrester was in May 2018. What a difference a year makes! Jacob Young, who released his CD ‘American Way’ in July 2018, looks almost recognizable.

Jacob, dressed in a leather vest, bolo tie, and western hat, shows off his long locks and mountain beard in the Instagram pic. The singer and songwriter looks more and more like Waylon Jennings, one of the original Outlaw Country bad boys, one of the inspirations that led Jacob to country music. The photo is captioned, “It’s My Way.”

It is now Jacob’s way! That includes enjoying life with his wife Christen and the couple’s three children at his Northern Utah ranch, recording, performing at the LRS Country Fest in Central Oregon and playing around with FaceApp have kept Jacob busy since departing Bold and the Beautiful.

B&B fans barely recognized Jacob, whose beard shows a few grey and white hairs coming in, as he ages gracefully. The singer, songwriter, and actor has shared several photos, including one he titled, “The role I was born to play. Meet Phil.”

Jacob has previously shared acoustic covers on Instagram of his favorite songs recorded by Waylon Jennings, who passed away on February 13, 2002 from a diabetes-related illness. If the life story of country music icon ever makes it to the big screen, Bold and the Beautiful alum Jacob Young would be the perfect actor for the job.

In addition to recording, working on his next album, performing and spending time with his family, the former B&B star launched The Jacob Young Show, sharing “entertainment news from an Emmy winning insider” on YouTube. The podcast was previously called Daytime After Dark.

On April 19, 2018, Jacob tweeted:

“I want to take a moment to address the rumors that I’m currently off contract. All true, I’m recurring and just starting to shoot a movie for Lifetime. I have been under contract for 21 years and this to me is a blessing. I can now have the time to pursue all my passions. Xo”

B&B fans, even though they would enjoy seeing more of Rick Forrester, but they don’t expect to see Jacob’s full-time return. The actor has several new projects he is pursuing.
