Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Bridget Cuts Brooke Off, Whip Changes His Tune

Fan Favorite Showdowns week continues on the Wednesday, July 8, 2020, The Bold & the Beautiful. In an Emmy-winning performance from 2002, Bridget Forrester (Jennifer Finnegan) finally takes off the blinders and confronts her mother about her affair with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). Bridget says that Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) must be totally irresistible, the sexiest woman in the world, if she can steal a man away from her own daughter. She used to defend her mother’s behavior, but now she realizes how disgusting Brooke is.

Bridget knows that the baby is Deacon’s and that Brooke is in love with Deacon, not Whip. Bridget demands an explanation. Brooke is ashamed to get into the details. Bridget figures out that Deacon and Brooke were together in Paris the night Bridget couldn’t find him. Bridget says choices have consequences.

Brooke freaks when Bridget severs their relationship. Bridget is all that matters to her. She claims she only slept with Deacon because she thought Bridget’s marriage was over. Brooke says that she agreed to go along with Whip’s scheme and married a man she doesn’t love to protect Bridget.

Bridget encourages her mother to go for it and start a life with Deacon and the baby.  Brooke begs her daughter to give her a second chance to prove her love. She promises to change. Bridget rejects Brooke’s apologies. Bridget is done with her mother. It’s not about forgiveness, it’s about trust.

Whip Jones (Rick Hearst) goes to Deacon’s place looking for Brooke. Deacon believes everything is fine: Bridget and Brooke are in Big Bear. Whip is relieved that Bridget did not hear Deacon’s conversation with Brooke over the baby monitor. Whip believes Deacon set it up so that he’d have Brooke and the baby all to himself. Whip warns Deacon to stay away from his wife.

Deacon agrees but still believes the truth will come out eventually. He plans to set up a publicity tour on the road for Bridget’s Ambrosia line.

Whip changes his tune and admits that Deacon’s sacrifice is admirable. He just wants to see Brooke happy. Deacon says neither of them can make Brooke happy. Whip is thrilled when Deacon says he’s leaving tomorrow. He promises to treat the baby as his own.

Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) interrupts Brooke and Bridget. Bridget walks out with Brooke hanging on, pleading with her not to leave. Stephanie tells Brooke to stop groveling and respect her daughter’s decision. A hysterical Brooke goes into labor.
