Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers & Recap Tuesday June 23: Nicole Has Second Thoughts About Giving Maya Her Baby

On the Tuesday, June 23, 2020, The Bold & the Beautiful continues Emmy Week, which showcases performances nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. This throwback episode, which aired in 2017, opens at Forrester Creations where Zende Dominguez (Rome Flynn) tries to reason with Nicole Avant (Reign Edwards). Although no one will ever take away the special connection between Nicole and Lizzy Forrester (Gianna and Isabella Garcia), Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and Maya Forrester (Karla Mosley) also share a bond with her. Lizzy will always be a part of Nicole’s life, but not as her daughter.

Zende asks Nicole to consider the consequences if they ran away with Lizzy: they’d have to leave their jobs, family, and everything they worked so hard for.

Zende assures Nicole that they will have a family of their own, but it’s not right to go back on her word that she would be Maya’s surrogate. He urges her to stop stressing. She’ll get pregnant again when the time is right. Nicole wonders if Lizzy is her only chance to have a child.

Zende tells Nicole that she should have turned to him instead of her father about not signing the papers. He reminds her that the baby is Rick’s biological child. They can’t be Lizzy’s parents. Nicole begs him to give her time and try to understand.

Maya paces the floor, waiting to learn if Zende could get through to Nicole. Rick is outraged that they have to remind Nicole that Lizzy is their baby. The pressure is on Zende to convince Nicole to sign the adoption papers.

When the air conditioning goes down, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Thomas Forrester (Pierson Fode) peel off their clothes and heat up Spectra Fashions. Thomas believes Spectra can turn things around once they get their new line rolling. Sally has faith that they can turn their battleship into a luxury liner. She’s grateful for Thomas’ help. Thomas says she inspired him to step out of his comfort zone and challenge himself. She saved him.

Sally says Saul Feinberg II (Alex Wyse) is concerned about the new and expensive changes at Spectra, including the logo. Thomas suspects Saul is jealous of him. Sally is pleased that Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck) is doing her own thing at Forrester, although she misses her sister. Thomas says that if he and Coco could forgive Sally, Sally needs to forgive herself. Sally wants to make up for betraying Thomas and Coco.

Julius Avant (Obba Babattunde) drops by to visit his daughter. Rick tells Julius and Maya not to worry—Nicole will sign the papers. Maya isn’t convinced.

Julius defends Nicole. She’s justifiably upset after finding out she might not be able to have more children. Julius advises Maya to reconsider her decision. Maybe the clerical error that made the papers invalid happened for a reason. Julius accuses Maya of selfishly torturing her infertile sister. He blasts her for forcing Nicole to sign the papers and taking away the only child her sister can ever have. Julius urges Maya to do the moral thing and give Lizzy back to her mother.

Zende comes in and demands that Julius stop berating Maya. He warns Julius to step back and stay out of his marriage. Julius vows that he will never stop protecting Nicole. If Maya had been meant to be a mother, she would have been given the means to have a baby. Julius walks out. Zende comforts Maya.
