Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers & Recap Wednesday January 8: Hope Won’t Ditch Douglas, So Liam Walks Out On Her

The Wednesday, January 8, 2020, The Bold and the Beautiful opens with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) hoping that Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) will help Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) get over his fixation with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). Steffy believes that Zoe is proof that Thomas is a changed man. Ridge praises his son for the way he’s raising Douglas, but worries co-parenting with Hope will get messy.

Ridge is proud of the job his daughter has done working at Forrester Creations and raising Kelly (Zoe Pennington). Ridge suggests that being with Liam would bring Steffy more happiness.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Liam’s Proposal Comes With Strings Attached

Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) gets down on one knee but Hope isn’t ecstatic over a proposal with strings attached. Liam believes Hope made a mistake in working with and sharing custody with Thomas. He won’t give her the ring he’s holding until she promises to cut Thomas out of her life completely, which means ending the co-parenting and their collaboration on the Hope for the Future line. He promises that they will still protect Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), but she can’t keep custody.

Douglas and Thomas burst through the cabin door. Thomas is sorry—not sorry—for interrupting the proposal. Thomas takes a jab at Liam for waiting to pop the question until Thomas called him out on it. He picks up on the tension between Liam and Hope and is livid when he realizes that Liam’s marriage proposal required Hope to cut him and Douglas out of her life. Liam and Thomas get into a shoving match until Hope and Douglas return from visiting Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson).

Thomas begs Hope not to give in to Liam’s demands. Hope refuses Thomas’ request that they speak privately. She thanks Douglas for bringing Beth back to her and for being the best big brother and sends Thomas and Douglas home for the night.

Hope asks Liam to reconsider putting conditions on his proposal. How can Liam make her choose between him and the little boy she loves so much? Liam refuses to allow Thomas to continue poisoning their lives. Liam scoffs at Hope’s suggestion that they set firmer boundaries for Thomas. Thomas will violate every boundary she sets and is using Douglas as a human shield.

Thomas promises Douglas that he’s trying to make it possible for Hope to live with them permanently. Thomas wonders if Liam’s proposal will get in the way of his plans.

Hope loves Liam with all her heart and longs to raise Beth with him, but they wouldn’t have a family if it wasn’t for Douglas. Liam won’t back down from his ultimatum. When Hope won’t say yes to his proposal, Liam walks out.
