Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Scott Clifton Teases Upcoming Baby Battle Over Beth – Who Has Rights?

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers state that the Beth dilemma is going to get very complicated in the months ahead.

They will ask the question of who is really Beth’s mother? Is it Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) the one who gave birth to her or Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood –the only mother she has ever known. Here’s what’s ahead on B&B.

The fact is, this is a very emotional time for Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). The actor said that his alter ego is very worried about his wife, Hope. She’s not handling Beth’s death very well and seems to be latching on to Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) son as her own. It’s a scary thing to watch for Liam.

Clifton said that in time, they will reveal the baby secret. But he thinks the critical thing is not if they reveal it, because they will. It is when will they and the timing of it will matter.

Scott said that the interesting thing about this storyline is Steffy believes her adoption is legit and she loves the baby as she was her own. She has no reason to think that Phoebe is actually Beth.

Another interesting point about this story is that both women –Hope and Steffy—have a reason to believe they are Phoebe’s mother. One gave birth to her and the other is the only mother she knows.

“When they reveal it actually matters because it changes the nature of the conflict.”

“The longer this baby is ‘Phoebe’ and not ‘Beth,’ the longer she is bonding with Steffy and Kelly. The more maternal Steffy feels the less it’s going to matter, as far as she is concerned, that the baby is biologically Hope’s. Potentially, you have this conflict where Hope’s saying, ‘I’ve been robbed,’ and Steffy’s saying, ‘I don’t care; you can’t rip a baby away from [the only mother she’s known] at this point. Then you have the philosophical question, which is, ‘Who is really the baby’s ‘mother?’” Clifton said in an interview to CBS Soaps In Depth.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all turns out. Hopefully, they reveal the baby secret for May sweeps and don’t drag this out for a year or more.
