Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Thomas Grows Jealous Of Douglas – Hope Loves His Son, Not Him

The Bold and the Beautiful' Spoilers: Hope Still Too Trusting – Thomas Not Open To Wife's Feelings About Douglas Or LiamThe Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Hope Forrester’s (Annika Noelle) desire to see the good in people continues to lead toward trouble, specifically where her husband is concerned. Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) isn’t in the mood to hear Hope’s thoughts about his son, or Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).

The plan that Thomas employed to scare his son by projecting a ghost in his bedroom worked. The result saw Hope rush to comfort Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) and then announce that the Thope wedding needed to happen while she was doing so.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Thomas Is Trying To Be Patient

Thomas is trying to be patient with his new bride. He is appreciative of Hope’s surprising willingness to have gotten married sooner than even Thomas expected. So, the staycation honeymoon is a compromise.

However, the days following the awkward nuptial experience have been filled with as yet unknown turmoil for Douglas. As B&B viewers saw, Thomas sternly told him never to speak about the phone call he overheard. Douglas was naturally confused, as he knows his dad said that Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) was still alive.

The above scene included Thomas grabbing Douglas on the arm, the boy saying owe, and then getting angry. He doesn’t like that his father doesn’t speak about Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) anymore and reminded Thomas that he loves Hope, but that she’s not his real mom. Douglas also verbally repeated that Beth was alive, multiple times, after his dad left the room they were in.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Thomas Grows Jealous Of Hope And Douglas’ Bond

Thomas’ recent chiding of Douglas was the setup to him becoming agitated by Hope’s focus on Douglas during their so-called honeymoon and her mention of Liam. The reference to Clifton’s character, in particular, truly irks Thomas.

Hope married Thomas because she wants to be a mother figure for Douglas. Thomas knowingly used his son as emotional bait, but has convinced himself that Hope loves him.

As for Hope, she continues to resist any romantic overtures Thomas makes. While being trusting is a positive point of her personality, it’s fair to say that Hope also knew that Thomas was in love with her when she married him.

Yes, Hope told Thomas that she wasn’t sure when she’d be ready for a traditional marital experience. But expecting him to be a platonic friend is a naive expectation that will also likely prove dangerous.

Thomas has chosen to show the sunny side of himself to Hope so far. But many other people have seen his night side. Unless something splits them soon, Hope will surely realize what Douglas and others already know.
