Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) has caused concern with viewers on whether he can be a good father to Douglas. With Thomas now in the hospital fighting for his life, and possible jail time if he wakes up, fans are wondering what will happen to Douglas.

After the death of Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey), Thomas and Douglas moved back to Los Angeles. Thomas is the only parent Douglas has left, and with Thomas’ future up in the air, Douglas will need a new home.

Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) is Douglas’ stepmother and she has a right to raise Douglas. However, Hope is annulling her marriage to Thomas to be with her true love Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). Even though Douglas is his cousin and Liam loves the boy, he doesn’t think that he and Hope should have custody of the boy.

The logical person to have custody of Douglas would be his grandfather Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) or his aunt Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Many fans feel that since Steffy had to give Beth back to Hope, then Steffy should have custody of Douglas. Having Steffy raise her nephew will give her some happiness after the baby switch fiasco.

However, if Steffy does receive custody of Douglas this will cause Hope to become concerned. Steffy like Hope was a victim in the baby switch. She knew how tough it was for Steffy to give up Beth and she’ll have to wonder if Steffy going for custody of Douglas is a ploy to fill a void in her life.

Hope loves Douglas and it’s because of the boy that the truth about Beth was revealed. She wants to remain part of the boy’s life and feels that she’ll be a good mother to him. If Steffy or Ridge wants custody of Douglas, Hope is going to fight them for it.

Hope’s pursuit of getting custody of Douglas will lead to a lot of problems not only for Steffy, but also for Liam. They were just reunited with their daughter Beth and Liam feels that Hope’s focus should be on their baby. With Hope’s focus on the custody suit, Liam will try everything to get her to drop the case, including throwing his support to Steffy.
