Soapy Documentary Pulls The Curtain Behind The Bell Family & The Bold And The Beautiful

Soap opera fans just love learning more about backstage stuff and how their favorite shows are produced. More often than not, when sneak peeks are done, viewers get a mere glimpse of how daytime dramas are made.

But, imagine getting more than just a quick look at things. It’s time to brace yourself for just that as a new documentary is in the works that will offer some insight into how The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) is produced, as well as more information on its creators, Lee Philip and William Bell.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – The New Documentary Is Simply Tiled, “Soaps”

As per Variety, the documentary is called, ‘Soaps’, and is “A love letter to an often-dismissed art form and an unexpected look at the rapid-fire process by which soap operas are made.”

Amplify Pictures is financing the project that is in production currently and will specifically focus on the “behind-the-scenes” action on B&B.

It is said that it will take a closer look into the inside world of daytime drama, in such a large capacity that has never been done before.

The documentary will also place a spotlight on the Bell family, who are also responsible for creating B&B’s sister show, The Young and the Restless (Y&R).

Matt Wolf is the director of ‘Soaps’, and states that upon arriving at the B&B studios, he was, “Blown away by the Herculean effort that goes into bringing these stories to life. It’s a fascinating and unexpected world that is ripe for a documentary.”

Wolf also thanked the B&B cast and crew, as well as the Bells, for welcoming him and the ‘Soaps’ documentary team into their world. He noted that everyone “tirelessly” brings the show to life and has “made the genre flourish.”

Joe Lewis, Amplify’s CEO, also commented on the ‘Soaps’ project, stating, “Soaps have built universes that generations have escaped into, but the world behind the camera is just as fascinating as the drama onscreen.”
