The soap world was stunned two weeks ago when Rena Sofer announced via social media that she would be leaving B&B after nine years on the soap and that her last tape date was August 5.

Since then, Sofer has been gracious about her time on the show, posting photos and videos of her goodbye party, while also telling fans about her next venture for now — expanding her pottery business.

I spent the last week I worked at @boldandbeautifulcbs handing out some of my hand made pottery to some people that showed me love when I needed it, kindness when I was feeling down or in appreciation for their work. I didn’t get to make stuff for everyone on the show cast and crew and for that I am saddened. I really wish I had more forethought for every single person there because it’s a whole unit on a show like Bold. We all need each other to make this show what it is. That’s what makes it great,” Sofer wrote in an Instagram post.

“So forgive me if I didn’t hand you something but know that I appreciated each and every one of you on #boldandbeautiful,” the actress continued. “That being said, Today I wanted to applaud our hair department. They are a complete new group of young talented women that really paved my last months on the show with so much kindness. B&B Spoilers – Rumor Has It Sofer Didn’t Want To Recur

There’s now word that Sofer also chose to leave the soap because they wanted to drop her to recurring status after her last contract ended and that’s not the route the actress wants to take.

She has said if the stars align, she might end up returning to General Hospital as Lois Cerullo one day, but there’s no word if that is happening as of yet.
