The Bold and the Beautiful News: Katherine Kelly Lang And Crystal Chappell Star In New Comedy

Two Bold & Beautiful stars learn that “sometimes you just gotta bet on love” in a newly released romantic comedy. Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Forrester, B&B) and Crystal Chappell (former Danielle Spencer, B&B) share the screen in the flick, Stan the Man, which was shot in October 2017 and released on-demand February 4, 2020, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Zachary Sasim, who penned the screenplay, describes the movie as an eclectic mix of romance, drama, faith, and mystery. Occhi Magazine calls it a work in the tradition of Heaven Can Wait and Switch. Filming took place at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, which gives it a big budget look.

In Stan the Man, Katherine Kelly Lang plays Elisabeth Morgan, a wealthy art connoisseur fighting for the affections of the main character, gambler Stan Mann (played by Steven Chase). Chappell plays Art Gallery Manager, Melody DuBois, who sells Elisabeth Morgan two pricey works of art. When Stan is critically injured in a liquor store robbery, an angel gives him 30 days to find true love. He must choose between Lang’s character and the young, poverty-stricken cashier whom Stan saves during the robbery.

Lang told the Digital Journal that she loved playing a more light-hearted role after all the tears and tension that Brooke Forrester must endure daily on B&B. Her Stan the Man character was “over-the-top” and “obsessed with controlling Stan.” Although Lang posted a stunning photograph of herself in a wedding gown during filming, writer Sasim reveals that love and marriage may not be the true motives for Lang’s character. Rather, Elisabeth Morgan desires Stan for the inheritance that’s coming his way. Lang is all too familiar with playing suspected gold diggers. In her 33 years on B&B, Brooke Logan has often been accused of bedding the Forrester men in order to get her hands on their money.

This isn’t the first screenplay penned by Sasim that Lang has been involved with. She also starred in the 2017 mob comedy Garlic & Gunpowder.

Lang has been busy recently attending an Oscars party and the Monte Carlo Film Festival and serving as ambassador for Amgen Breakaway from Cancer, a partnership of organizations working to empower and equip cancer patients. In January, she filmed The Christmas Dance alongside Home Improvement’s Richard Karn.

Lang’s Stan the Man co-star, Crystal Chappell continues to make a name for herself in both acting and directing. She has been filming the web series Venice: The Series and Beacon Hill with a bevy of other veteran soap actors.

Both Katherine Kelly Lang and Crystal Chappell show no signs of slowing down when it comes to giving fans what they want.
