The Bold And The Beautiful News: Kim Matula Back To Work

The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates reveal Actress Kimberly Matula has landed a starring role in the upcoming feature film, Tapawingo. Matula played Hope Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful, a role in which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series Category. Matula’s Hope was initially played by a series of child actors until the role was SORASed into a teenager and Matula took over the role in 2010.

The character, the child of Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) had Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) as father figures. Hope was pitted against Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in the same fashion that her mother, Brooke, was the mortal enemy of Steffy’s mother, Taylor Forrester (Hunter Tylo). Matula left the show in 2015 and recast Annika Noelle did not take up the role of Hope Logan until 2018.

Matula’s Hope Logan was the center of a popular love triangle between brothers Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). It appears that Matula will be surrounded by heartthrobs again as her new independent movie stars Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Billy Zane (Titanic).

The Bold And The Beautiful News – Kimberly Matula’s New Film

Matula’s new film showcases other soap alum. Tapawingo stars Amanda Bearse, who played Amanda Cousins on All My Children in 1983. Bearse shared the screen with Michael E. Knight, who played Tad Martin, and Debbi Morgan, who played Angie Hubbard. Matula’s Tapawingo co-star Cynthia Dallas played a security guard on Days of Our Lives from 2014-15.

The Governor of Virginia issued a statement welcoming the stars, including Matula, to the state as filming is slated to begin this summer in Hopewell, Petersburg, and Richmond, Virginia. According to Governor Ralph Northam’s office, Tapawingo is billed as a coming-of-age comedy about a “listless oddball who becomes the unlikely bodyguard for a misfit teenager and finds himself in the crosshairs of the town’s family of bullies.”

B&B Spoilers – Kimberly Matula Series Had Been Cancelled

Matula’s last comedy, the series LA to Vegas, was canceled by Fox in May 2018 after one season. Since leaving Bold & Beautiful, Matula garnered roles on the TV series UnREAL, Rosewood, Teachers, Maybe Someday, and Fighting with My Family.

When not starring in movies and TV, Matula enjoys spending time with her cats and boyfriend, actor Ben Goldberg. In March 2020, Matula took to Instagram to mourn the loss of her cat, Indy. Former Bold & Beautiful Co-stars Clifton and Rena Sofer (Quinn Forrester) commented with words of support. It’s likely that more words of support will flow Matula’s way after the release of her highly-anticipated comedy, Tapawingo.
