The Bold And The Beautiful News Update: New Production Guidelines Force Highly Unusual Adjustments To Be Made At B&B

The Bold And The BeautifulCBS The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers and news tease that B&B has been forced to employ new workplace realities due to production guidelines that have been put in place. Soap operas have long operated creatively due to the need to crank out year-round content. But current circumstances have created the need to adapt in ways that weren’t necessary for the past.

Of course, the past in this instance is as close as of March, when production was shut down. The recent pause in production, which occurred one day after B&B returned to work, is the first unusual adjustment that’s been needed.

No, B&B isn’t shutdown again. TPTB advised that the need to stop production after just resuming production is purely a brief pause. The difference being that production ended three months ago, with no known return to work date being known.

B&B decided to modify its testing protocol. Bradley Bell, B&B’s executive producer, and head writer was quoted by the Hollywood Reporter saying, “All production personnel will be tested on Mondays, and we’ll be filming Tuesday through Friday.”

So, a four-day filming schedule will begin effective Tuesday, June 23.

B&B Spoilers – Use Of Dolls And Real Life Spouses

Multiple sources confirmed that B&B will be using substitutes for actors in various romantic scenes. Dolls, which had been used in certain situations years ago will be available for scenes where actors normally would have been in direct, physical contact with each other.

An alternative option is to have the real-life spouses of actors to pose as stand-ins in various scenes. Purposeful camera angles would create what is known as trick photography shots.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Off-Screen Time Regulated On Set

Camaraderie will also be impacted by off-screen time at the studio. The Hollywood Reporter story also provided B&B protocol information that states, “Crew members will keep six feet away from one another and wear masks on set, and the actors are also required to wear masks when not filming scenes.”

Daytime drama is created through the significant effort of many individuals who are both seen and unseen. Everyone at B&B is adapting as best they can to unusual circumstances by making the adjustments that were referenced, along with many others, in order to deliver new episodes that fans have been patiently waiting since late April. It’s possible that the next fresh episode of B&B could be ready to air in July, based on the anticipated filming schedule.
