One part of the collateral climax damage has Katie caught between wanting to keep her family, that she cautiously restored, together, and believing that Bill is seemingly incapable of continuing his behavior patterns. It’s understood that he’s voluntarily left their house. So, the question is intended to fully ask if Katie should forgive Bill, have him move back, and keep their family intact?

If Bill and Brooke’s cabin kiss was a first-time event, then Katie’s calculation would be different. To start, her emotions wouldn’t be as managed as they are though painful, past experiences.

Living through Bill and Brooke’s various betrayals has toughened Katie. Some people are who they are. In this case, ‘Brill’ has obviously retained a personal connection that’s revisited at certain points when both characters feel that they need to console each other.

The issue with Katie attempting to condition forgiveness is that she won’t be able to know when another cabin kiss scenario will happen again. There’s also no way that Bill can make a verbal promise in this regard.

Will was thrilled that his parents were back together. Having to learn that they are permanently splitting would surely be traumatic. He’s bound to be devastated if his mother tells him that she and Bill are done.
