The Bold and the Beautiful POLL: What Will Happen To Douglas?

Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson)

Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) initially received everyone’s support when he returned from New York on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. Caroline Spencer’s (Linsey Godfrey) unexpected death, believed to have been caused by severe blood clot, took Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) mother from him on this earth.

The Forrester and Logan family’s opened their arms to Thomas, who had become a single parent. Even though both characters recasts (Atkinson and Samiri) took place last spring, it seems like ages ago considering all that’s happened since.

The Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) arc served to reveal Thomas as unstable, or still unstable, to the Logan family. But Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) doesn’t see his son that way and is adamantly opposed to any efforts that seek to shift custody of Douglas from Thomas to ‘Lope’.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Thomas Forrester Sees Lope As His Enemy

Douglas is happy living with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and Beth, who isn’t Phoebe Forrester, as he told his dad. Based on that subjective point, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) has been championing Douglas’ legal placement at the cabin, where the reformed ‘Lope’ is living again.

Scuttlebutt grows to a direct request, with Thomas rejecting a verbal request that he voluntarily relinquishes his rights to Douglas. Even though the audience likely agrees that Brooke and Hope’s intentions are not only warm-hearted but reflect what’s best for Douglas, it’s rather bold (wink)
to suggest that Thomas basically surrender fatherly control to Liam as part of the deal.

B&B Spoilers – Family Fights Breaking Bridge

Brooke’s intentions are just and her feelings are spot on. However, she doesn’t seem to understand that if the situation were reversed and Ridge was making the same type of request, that she would fight with all her might.

‘Bridge’ formed, broke, and has been repaired many times because love hasn’t been enough to maintain Brooke and Ridge’s marital tie. The messiness of their family dramas has often proven too much for either spouse or both, to handle.

Ridge wasn’t thinking logically in covering up Thomas’ involvement in Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) death and now, in choosing to only see his son’s potential, instead of his dark side.

Brooke and Ridge’s marriage can’t endure much more strife. The love they have for their children is understandably influencing the thoughts they have about each other.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Some Change Must Be Made

Thomas is going to lose custody of his son eventually unless he suddenly transforms himself into a caring human being. Douglas will either live with one of the Forrester’s or be adopted by ‘Lope’, assuming Hope and Liam stay together.

Brooke could agree to help raise Douglas, as a compromise that might allow ‘Bridge’ to survive. Then again, Ridge could be named Douglas’ guardian if Thomas eventually receives the mental health treatment he needs in a care facility.

  2. Guest says

Douglas is nothing to Hope. He has plenty of family including his Grandparents who would have claim to him. Not to mention his Uncle Bill.

  3. Guest says

Douglas should be with his father’s family. Thomas, Steffy or Ridge.

  4. Guest says

No, Ridge or Steffy should have Douglas. He should stay with the Forrester’s. Hope is not family to Douglas.
