The Bold and the Beautiful Poll: Who Deserves Custody of Douglas?

Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) father on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. Whether Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) likes that fact, or not, it’s true.

Hope Forrester (Annika Noelle) was intended, by her momentary husband, Thomas, as Douglas’ replacement mother, following the unexpected death of Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey). Noelle’s character quickly bonded with Samiri’s character and is currently raising him, with her former husband, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), though not in a legally authorized capacity.

The aforementioned Brooke does have Douglas’ best interests at heart, but she has no real say in this matter. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), the grandfather, does and he thinks differently than his wife, who recently asked him to leave her palatial estate due to their disagreement about this matter and, of course, Thomas.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Thomas Forrester’s Mixed Case

The strongest point that can be made on Thomas’ behalf is that he’s Douglas’ sole surviving genetic parent. That point is more important than any subjective opinion that can be offered.

There’s no available evidence that suggests that Thomas acted in any way that that was to Douglas’ detriment while Caroline was alive. Viewers know what they’ve seen and heard since both recast characters flew in from New York, earlier this year and can draw their own conclusions, again subjectively, in that regard.

One factor that works strongly against Thomas is how he handled the Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) news that was forced out of Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden). Keeping information about Beth being alive, under the name Phoebe Forrester, from Hope, his supposed love and then wife, was amoral.

And, only Thomas, Ridge, and the viewers know that Atkinson’s character tailgated Emma Barber (Nia Sioux) to her death on Mulholland Drive. That puts every person in this fictional version of Los Angeles, California, at a disadvantage, because they haven’t confirmed just how dangerous Thomas is.

B&B Spoilers – Lope Provides Family Structure

Hope and Liam don’t have a legal right to raise Douglas, though they could request it. At the present moment they have reconvened their family, which was broken up as a direct result of Dr. Reese Buckingham’s (Wayne Brady) actions and Thomas’ manipulations regarding Beth.

Brooke is right in telling her husband that Douglas is happy living with ‘Lope’. Here’s hoping that they stay together this time, as they can provide stability.

Hope and Liam may decide to seek custody of Douglas. But even if they do pursue that generous path, their efforts aren’t guaranteed to result in custody.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Alternative Care Options Exist

It would seem unlikely that the state of California would need to intervene and place Douglas in the foster care system, even it temporarily. Other options exist on B&B that would avoid that trauma.

Ridge could feel compelled, at some point, to take custody of Douglas, if he feels it’s best. That could happen if he disagrees with any efforts ‘Lope’ might make, as encouraged by Brooke.
