Carter has every reason to ask this question and deserves an honest answer. However, Katie can’t even admit her true feelings to herself. So, of course, she continues assuring Carter that she only wants him.

Even though Carter stops talking when Katie kisses him, this situation isn’t resolved. Katie is just sweeping the situation under the rug.

So, Carter is going to continue struggling over whether to put his guard up or trust Katie’s words. This leads Carter to get some words of wisdom from Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).
