The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers indicate that fans will soon learn the cause of Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) bizarre behavior.

Fans are in agreement that B&B has ruined the character of Thomas. When the show returned from hiatus, it looks like they were finally going to redeem him.

Thomas repaired his relationship with his sister Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and dad Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). He also seemed to make amends with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and was being a good dad to Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).

However, it was too good to be true.  In old B&B fashion, the show decided to make him a villain again.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Hope Doll

Thomas’ obsession with Hope isn’t over. As fans witnessed, Thomas has a mannequin resembling Hope in his apartment.

Lately, Thomas has been having hallucinations of the doll talking to him and ordering him to kill Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).  Once again Thomas is going down a dangerous route with him plotting murder against Liam.

Although fans are upset with the continuous destruction of Thomas, executive producer Brad Bell promised the reason for Thomas’ behavior will be explained soon.

B&B Spoilers – Brain Tumor

Many fans have speculated that there’s an underlying cause for Thomas’ actions.

The first theory is one that many soap characters face on the road to redemption. The diagnosis is that Thomas has a brain tumor.

Many characters, including Thomas’ aunt Pam Douglas (Alley Mills), have done horrible misdeeds in the past. But it would later be revealed the character suffered from a brain tumor, which caused their behavior.

Pam would later go on to be redeemed, and B&B fans are hoping this will be the direction the show chooses in giving Thomas a second chance.

Another theory that fans have is that Thomas is suffering from some type of mental illness.  In an interview with TV Insider, Atkinson discussed his theory that his character has paranoid schizophrenia.  This would explain Thomas’ recent hallucinations and the voices in his head.

Many soap operas have tackled the issue of mental illness, and with schizophrenia being a serious disorder, B&B may be ready to showcase a storyline about the topic.

Although fans are skeptical about how B&B would handle the issue, in the past they’ve fumbled plenty of big storylines.  However, Thomas’ schizophrenia story does have the potential to be compelling.  Of course, the family will rally around him as they seek answers and treatment for his condition.

The story could set up the possible return of Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo). In a recent interview, Bell said he’s open to having Tylo back on the show.

With Thomas suffering from schizophrenia or another mental disorder, Taylor could be on her way back to Los Angeles. As a mother and a doctor, she’ll do anything to help Thomas.
