The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) is a grown woman. Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is a grown man. Neither person’s parents are responsible for whatever has or may develop between them romantically.

People in this version of Los Angeles, California who do not believe in personal responsibility are not fully rational. Instead, they would blame Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) or Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) for Thomas’ previous obsessive thoughts about Hope, which included him believing a mannequin was real.

One part of Thomas’ storyline involved him suffering a head injury that was later revealed to have caused brain trauma. That factor, not parental influence, drove one of his wild pursuits of Hope. The others involved some mental health issues he had.

It is fair to say that those who are in the proximity of someone who is troubled can take responsibility. So, it is fair to suggest that Ridge or Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) chose not to see that Thomas needed mental health treatment. As for the brain injury, no one but a doctor could have diagnosed that.

Viewers know that Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was actually using her maternal instincts when repeatedly telling Ridge that something was off with Thomas. Ridge, serving as Thomas’ sole parental influence while Taylor was on a missionary assignment in Africa, reacted defensively and missed opportunities to have likely prevented Thomas from going as far as he did.

B&B Spoilers – Liam Spencer Is Brooke Logan Now

Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) can not get past his doubts about Thomas. Any concerned husband would naturally be suspicious of any guy who repeatedly made romantic plays for his wife.

Clifton’s character rightly said it is his job to look out for Hope. Taylor’s job is to care for her son. But she must realize that Liam is not being stubborn. He is realistic.

Brooke sounded multiple alarms about Thomas. Liam carries that torch now.

Ironically, Liam is right to remain on guard even though Thomas is sticking to his redemption efforts.

Hope’s doubts about becoming her mother, as reinforced by Steffy’s caustic comments on that topic, are off base. Hope should be seeing a therapist, just like Thomas is.

Brooke’s storied romantic history is not compelling Hope to suddenly see Thomas as a romantic possibility. Instead, Steffy’s other comments hit the mark.

Hope was used to Thomas showering her with praise and attention. It appears Hope is subconsciously attempting to reignite that dynamic on B&B.
