Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) believes, without medical backing beyond Taylor Hayes’ (Krista Allen) personal endorsement for their son, that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is stable and poses no threat to Douglas’ welfare.
Clearly, Brooke and Ridge are projecting their emotions into this family situation. In daytime reality, Thomas and Hope appear to share legal custody of Douglas.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – System Rules For One Side Over The Other?
Unless some current disturbing event occurs, it would seem that someone with legal say in the state of California would have to affirm that Thomas and Hope have equal parental rights.
Yes, Thomas is Douglas’ biological father. But his track record in recent years matters. So too is his request that Hope become Douglas’ mother.
Hope did not initiate her connection with Douglas (as then played by Henry David Samiri). She and Douglas bonded naturally before the legal adoption and before he came to live at the cabin full-time with Thomas’ happy endorsement.
B&B Spoilers – Ridge Forrester Backs His Clan
Ridge has Taylor’s support. He has Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) enthusiastic endorsement as well.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) loves the idea of having Thomas live with him at the mansion especially because he will get to spend more time with the latest budding Forrester artist. Eric knows that Thomas would like to resume his full-time parental responsibilities.
Ridge’s support of his son puts him at odds with Brooke. That is a connected plot line device. Devoted fans recognize that, as does Taylor.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Brooke Logan Forrester Leads The Logans
Brooke is teased to be joined by Katie Logan (Heather Tom) in her support for keeping Douglas under Hope and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) control. Along with Katie, Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) supports Brooke’s contention and Hope’s right to remain Douglas’ leading parental figure.
The developing Forrester-Logan battle is multi-faceted. Ridge against Brooke. Hope and Liam against Thomas and Steffy. Eric and Donna have different perspectives during the early days of their reconciliation.
It appears as though Douglas wants more time with his dad because he has said so directly. But whether he wants to leave his adoptive mother and her family is a different question that none of the characters in this drama have asked. Possibly, attorneys will?

Taylor needs to go back to where she came from. She looks and acts too trashy. She is in no position to judge Brooke. Ridge has to stop playing Taylor against Brooke.
Does any of them concern themselves with what the child may want? Seems to me the importance placed is Logan vs Forrester especially with Steffy and Taylor becoming so dictatorial and opinionated. How can any of them disregard the importance Hope has played in the child’s life? She wasn’t just a temporary babysitter till Thomas got it together IF he really has. And Ridge makes me want to throw up … always a little too affectionate with Taylor even when daughter Hope is there and can add two and two and can report back to mom Brooke. For the life of me, I cannot understand why either Brooke or Taylor wastes their time on Ridge when both know he’s very affectionate with each of them, one he actually lives and sleeps with. Ridge seems to be enjoying himself while playing his game that both women are allowing him to play. Are they both really that dumb and eat up with stupid? I hope Liam and Hope take Thomas to Court for primary custody since the Forrester clan is no longer satisfied with the current parental sharing arrangement that has been working so well. Of course, the Forresters are influenced by Finn’s return from the dead and being reunited with his wife and children so let’s have a repeat performance doing the same for Thomas and his son.
