Deacon’s feelings for Brooke could play into a storyline that kicks off during the week of August 8. It is teased that Thomas will want Douglas back. It sounds as if Thomas isn’t suggesting joint custody but might want to parent Douglas full-time.

The one thing that could cause Thomas to do this is finding out Deacon covered for Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) after John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) rescue. Hope would be put right in the middle. Hope won’t feel that she should have to choose between Deacon and Douglas. If Thomas threatens to go to court, Hope could stress about the situation.

Could Brooke use Deacon’s feelings for her to kick off a devious scheme? Brooke does have a way of convincing men like Deacon to do what she wants. Plus, there is Deacon’s wish to make things right for Hope. So, Brooke could definitely get her way.

Brooke might convince Deacon that the only way to help Hope is by showing the court that Thomas hasn’t changed. Brooke might tell Deacon that Thomas needs to be set up, which will probably be caught on video.

Brooke would justify the scheme by telling Deacon that Thomas will go back to his old ways sometime. Brooke might say that they aren’t doing anything wrong because an innocent child is at risk. Even though Deacon might not feel right about this, would he do it for Brooke? How would Hope feel if she finds out about the scheme?
