Cassandra has weak, if not nonexistent leverage on Carter. She previously threatened to go to Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and tell him that Carter and Paris were involved.

First, Paris and Zende are not a serious couple. Secondly, why would Ridge care as much as Cassandra thinks he would, as Kaye’s character made peace with his best friend after the Quinn incident played out. Plus, Ridge has far more pressing issues now that Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is hospitalized and John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is dead.

Quinn has to know that she would be done if she were to betray her husband’s trust, specifically with Carter. Eric Forrester (John McCook) was incredibly forgiving and magnanimous when initially accepting her relationship with Carter.

Eric later encouraged that connection due to his ED issue until finally reconciling with Quinn. Marital rules were reestablished when that happened, with Carter also being forgiven on a conditioned basis.

Meanwhile, Brooke sent Ridge back to Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) because of what happened with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). But Brooke since changed her mind and was planning on fighting for her marriage before Finn’s death, and Steffy’s shooting interrupted the trajectory of Brooke’s efforts.

So, being alone at the moment, Brooke would be an open shoulder for Eric to lean on if Quinn is perceived to be drifting back to Carter.

Eric would instantly be the most eligible bachelor on B&B if he and Quinn ended their marriage. Even the potential of that happening would draw the interest of the Logan women as it did in the recent past.

Brooke loves Eric differently than she loves Ridge. Bridget Forrester’s (Ashley Jones) return to town began with her helping Steffy at the hospital but could morph into more. She could become a champion of her parents (Eric and Brooke) getting back together if Ridge opts for divorce and remarries Taylor.
