He offers his resignation but Eric Forrester (John McCook) won’t allow the lawyer to quit. Instead, he issues a veiled threat and then delivers a shocking curveball.

B&B spoilers reveal that Eric is reeling from finding out that he was betrayed by two people he trusted. One is his wife, Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) while the other is Carter. The lawyer is overwhelmed with guilt. He wanted to confess to the affair before but Quinn would always convince him to keep quiet. Now that the truth is out, Carter understandably assumes he will no longer have a job at Forrester Creations. So, he offers to type up his resignation letter.

B&B Spoilers – Not Allowed To Quit

In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, McCook explained that Eric doesn’t accept Carter’s resignation. He won’t allow the attorney to quit Forrester Creations because he is too important to the company. He also has something that he wants Carter to do for him. He doesn’t allow Carter to have a choice and it almost sounds like Eric could be threatening him.

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that Eric demands that Carter represent him in his divorce case. Not only does he order the lawyer to handle the marriage dissolution, but he warns Carter that he better do it well.

“Eric is wounded and hurt, but then his anger starts to surface. Eric metaphorically takes him by the throat and says, ‘You’re not going anywhere. You’re important to this company. You are going to represent me in this divorce and you are going to represent me well. That’s your job. You don’t get to resign.’”

B&B Spoilers – What If He Quits Anyway?

Now, it’s interesting that Eric is trying to force Carter to stay at Forrester Creations and represent him in court. Due to his relationship with Quinn, it would be a conflict of interest. So, Carter probably could just quit no matter what Eric says.

However, the Forresters are influential, connected, wealthy and powerful. Eric normally isn’t a vengeful person. In fact, he is known for his forgiveness. This time, though, he might have been pushed too far. There is also the chance that Eric wants to make sure Quinn suffers by the end of the divorce, which he knows Carter is capable of doing.

As for what happens afterward, there is no telling if Eric will continue to punish Carter in unexpected ways. Of course, Eric could also insist they get back to business and move forward. We will have to keep watching the CBS soap to find out.
