Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) loves her dad and conflicts with her stepfather as a result. Those who are unfamiliar with the characters referenced above might conclude that Hope is a child. Instead, she is in her mid-thirties, is married, and is a mother to two children.
Ridge sees Hope in some respects as he sees Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). His protective instincts for Hope are tied to deep misgivings about Brooke’s connection to Deacon, with whatever that proves to be.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Currency, Not Just The Past
Ridge is not living in the past. He has legitimate concerns about his eight-time wife’s link to Hope’s father.
Referring to Deacon as Hope’s father was intentional, as Ridge claims Kanan’s character is using the genetic tie to manipulate Brooke. But that is what Ridge was doing when he used Brooke’s backstory with Deacon when telling Hope to leave the cabin.
The early middle-aged Hope wants her father in her life. That makes sense, and Ridge should have sought a compromise to that end. However, he angered Hope and disrespected Brooke’s role as her mother and the owner of the cabin.
B&B Spoilers – Brooke Logan Forrester Forced To Choose
A forced-choice was unnecessary. Bridge could have come to a solution that allowed Deacon to visit Hope at the cabin when Ridge was not on the property.
Brooke may have even been willing to ensure that little to no contact with Deacon would take place as an appeasement to Ridge. Plus, that approach would have provided an extra layer of protection for Brooke.
Now, due to Ridge’s undisciplined actions, Deacon looks like the poor soul. In many ways, he fits that description.
The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Deacon Sharpe Does Not Need A Plan
Deacon intended to take Hope’s offer. He met her at the cabin upon his release from jail.
But Deacon did not want his first visit with Hope to happen in front of Bridge and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). As viewers recall, that trio collectively denigrated Deacon and treated Hope like a child.
Brooke has been affected by Hope’s response to Deacon. But Lang’s character has also been impacted by Deacon’s change in demeanor. He is far less wild and seems determined to be a good father and live a good life.
Ridge has unintentionally broken Hope and Brooke’s trust. That specific plot point is why Deacon is legitimately optimistic about his future on B&B.
