Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) loves his father on The Bold and the Beautiful. But he doesn’t seem to be missing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) now that he’s moved back into Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) house.

‘Lope’ has reunited, seemingly for good. And with that much-anticipated comeback includes Douglas’ addition to Hope and Liam’s family that first grew through the infamous birth of Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson).

B&B Spoilers – Thomas Forrester Did Himself In

It was almost unbelievable to think that Thomas would continue holding sway indefinitely. But this is daytime drama, where savvy viewers know that suspension of belief must be in play in order for dramatic plots to proceed. Yes, this arc was certainly super-charged with extreme drama.

Thomas simply told too many lies, manipulated too many people, and believed far too deeply in an imagined view of invincibility. His lies have been revealed. The vast number of people he wronged rebelled. And, no one is unbeatable, as Hope’s shrewd ‘Thoe’ wedding maneuver demonstrated.

Hope’s plan to change into the wedding dress Thomas created for her, which was created under the guise of a being a showstopper, was brilliant. In doing so she provoked the exact, expected response.

Leaving his claimed bride literally at the altar, during the vows no less, Thomas walked toward Hope sincerely believing that she’d come to her senses. He thought that Douglas had followed through on the directive that was given to him to persuade Hope into marrying them.

Them is the keyword in the last sentence because Thomas has long intended for Douglas to lead the proposed package deal. He’s used his son since after they returned from New York, following Caroline Spencer’s (Linsey Godfrey) death, as emotional bait to Hope in.

The above effort did technically work when Hope grudgingly agreed to marry Thomas last year. But the marriage quickly failed. However, that didn’t prevent devious recalculation attempts that have now blown fully back in Thomas’ face.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Douglas Forrester Simply Wants Stability

Losing one’s mother at such a young age isn’t something that most children ever experience. Douglas did and Thomas, as admitted on rare occasions, hasn’t known how to be a single parent ever since.

It’s fair to suggest that Thomas’ stated efforts, to secure a new mother for Douglas, were based in heartfelt feelings regarding his son’s welfare. But the manner Atkinson’s alter ego went about his goal, along with the selfish tie-in to marrying Hope, went far overboard. But now, due to Hope’s actions and the response that was generated among many who were affected, Thomas is done.
