Eric’s disillusionment with his wife took hold when he learned that she encouraged Shauna to pursue Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). That opened an old would for Eric, as Quinn’s romantic interest in his adopted son happened in the not too distant past.

So, the separation period that Eric called for and Quinn’s subsequent move back into the mansion, which was followed by a period of coldness, was sparked by the actions of Sofer’s character. Eric was simply reacting to what Quinn did.

Quinn’s reckless behavior fuels speculation that she needs psychological counseling. This assessment would be rejected by Quinn, with a passionate denial serving as circumstantial evidence that it’s apt.

Carter willfully, foolishly allowed himself to become involved with Quinn. However, Quinn’s choice was worse as she was married to Eric at the time. Carter had broken his engagement to Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes).

Brooke has always rejected Quinn as the right marital fit for Eric. Lang’s character has remained protective of Eric and not because she wanted to rekindle their emotional connection and remarry him. Brooke cares about Eric.

Quinn claimed to love Eric. But her actions, not her words, proved revealing and destructive. Quinn only has herself to blame, as Brooke, everyone at the vow renewal ceremony, especially Carter, and the audience knows.
