Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) has been running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to keep track of her husband these days.
Apparently that’s why we never see her on the soap, babysitting Eric Forrester (John McCook) is starting to be a full-time job.
The patriarch was clearly triggered by his son’s impromptu retirement party, and now he’s on a mission to prove his worth at the family company.

B&B rumors hint that Eric’s behavior could be the result of getting a devastating diagnosis recently. If the Forrester patriarch just learned that his memory is going, that would definitely explain his sudden need to launch more of his work.
Another Tell-Tale Sign
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers are teasing a dark depression in Eric’s near future, recent previews show the fashion mogul questioning the point of living any more.
That’s pretty dark for daytime TV, but one of the first signs of dementia in elderly people is a deep depression.
It’s unclear if the patients become depressed because their memories are slipping away, or if the depressive state is an actual symptom of dementia. But, they usually go hand-in-hand and that could be what’s going on with Eric Forrester.

He could very well be. There are so many seniors these days dealing with dementia. If he is planning to retire from the show, that could be a good exit story providing it doesn’t drag on forever. I don’t know how old he is but I think he’s getting up there in age. Guess we will find out soon.

I knew when I mentioned in a post that Eric wasn’t showing signs of dementia and shouldn’t be allowed ti be forced into retirement by Ridge would probably lead to a storyline. Here we are. So sad to do this to John McCook. Every elderly person doesn’t develop dementia. There are lots of people in their 90s who are doing well. A factual, not made up comment.
