Eric Forrester Quickly Reverses Retirement Decision

Katie appreciated the verbal support Eric offered when she talked with him and her other sister, Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), at the Forrester mansion. Then, Eric’s generosity and interest grew.

He was impressed with Katie’s drive when meeting in her Logan office inside the Spencer Publications’ building. But his determination to continue using his God-given and personally developed artistic ability led to a surprising statement.

Eric told Katie that he wants to do more than consult, as he recently said. Instead, he’s going to help her build the company from the ground up.

Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) would have a lot to say about Eric’s decision to help Katie if she were still on this earth. Assuming she’s in heaven, which some of her earthly foes might question, Stephanie would arguably back Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke.

It would make soapy sense to split the co-founders into warring camps. Eric backs the upstart rival and Stephanie remaining with her son.

Of course, the classic storyline shocker, where it was revealed that she had Ridge through Massimo Marone (Joseph Mascolo), could be exhumed in all its messy glory.

It’s fair to say that what Eric has impulsively decided will lead to jabs between him and Ridge about that genetic lineage. But the main focus will surely involve Ridge and Brooke feeling massively betrayed by his choice to back a rival who stole what they consider to be FC’s intellectual property.

A fair shot rests at the heart of what Eric is doing. Yes, he gets to mine his glory days and experience the rush of building a fashion house from the studs all over again.

But Eric is purely following what Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) told Katie when giving her this magnificent wedding gift. Both men believe in her ability to realize a full potential outcome.

Plus, Eric’s family goes beyond those individuals who have his last name. He’s fully committed to Donna, has children with Brooke, and now backs the third sister, Katie. He’s part of the Logan family, not just the Forrester clan.
