Krista Allen was put in a challenging spot. She was recast to play Taylor after Hunter Tylo’s multiple runs on the show.

Allen did a fine job providing a different glimpse of this legacy character. Her work included compelling storylines where Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) saved Taylor, who was trying to prevent her from jumping off a hospital roof.

That came at a point in the plot when Sheila’s role in the shootings of John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy was unknown.

The switch to Budig is important because of that actor’s acting pedigree. She was on Guiding Light (1996 through 2007), All My Children (1998 through 2011), and most recently, General Hospital (2014 through 2021).

This seasoned actor should fit right into B&B’s cast. It will be interesting to see what different take her version of Taylor will offer.

Steffy made a bold statement when complimenting Brooke. She was having trouble stomaching the party thrown at her grandfather’s mansion celebrating Brooke’s Bedroom’s success.

A chat with Pam Douglas (Alley Mills) produced the surprising turn. It appeared Steffy would evoke Pam’s departed sister, the ultimate Forrester matriarch, Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). No verbal beatdown followed.

Yet, the audience knew that Steffy’s restraint included knowing Taylor was coming home. So, Steffy, as she often does, made the smart move.

Marvelous plotting had Budig make her debut in Monte Carlo. B&B’s exotic location shoots are famous for their mix of love and drama.

So, while Brooke and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) were celebrating the all-out success experienced at the Fashion Summit when the shot shifted. The new view was from behind a covered figure.

Budig turned, and daytime devotees knew what was happening. Then, Taylor called Steffy, and viewers realized the setup.

Taylor loves Ridge. That will never change. She also feels Brooke will eventually break his heart, as she’s done many times before.

Kaye’s character is as committed to Brooke as he’s ever been. But Bridge’s enduring resonance has also included trials. Taylor is banking on that and seems likely to wait for a prime opportunity to win Ridge’s heart back.
