On Instagram, a fan asked Bowden when the soap would begin filming again. She indicated that they are just waiting for approval from the city of Los Angeles.

“Hey! Hopefully soon – we have to wait for the go-ahead from LA to start filming again.”

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, the publication speculated that The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless could be the first soaps to resume production.

COVID-19 Rates Spike In Los Angeles

However, there is an unexpected snag in the plan. Just days after the governor made the statement about production being okay to resume no earlier than June 12, there was an increase in coronavirus cases. The spike was not just a few additional cases, either. So, it’s clear that COVID-19 remains a problem in certain areas, one of which is Los Angeles, where the soap is filmed.

Due to the spike in certain California counties, it could put a hold on production plans even longer.

While nobody has a crystal ball and can’t predict exactly when filming will start up again, don’t expect it to happen right away. The health of the cast and crew must come first.
