If Liam had not told Hope that their marriage was over and if she had not cavorted with Thomas, then a reconciliation would have been more plausible. But both events happened, and this couple appears to be married in name only.
The cabin served as Liam and Hope’s oasis, with that noun being a cultured choice as compared to childish-sounding spaces that are safe. Mentally balanced adults in this version of Los Angeles, California can thrive anywhere. They do not need to be in perceived protected surroundings to do so.

Liam broke from Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) a handful of years ago in soap-time. Per her push, he returned to Hope and remarried her. In real-time, that happened in 2020.
Hope became Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) adopted mother. Liam was uncertain they could handle that addition to their family which included their then-baby, Beth Spencer (now played by Jordyn Lynn Ariza). But he came to embrace Douglas.
Liam warned Hope not to rehire Thomas, but she did. Later, Liam told Hope he felt trouble brewing if she went to the fashion show with Thomas, but she did.
Viewers could answer the subject header question by using the word nothing. But Liam’s problem is that Hope would disagree with that take.

Thomas was a screw-up. He could not get out of his way and did not know how to handle himself in almost any interpersonal situation, be it family or work. The man had no friends, except for Vincent Walker (Joe Lo Cicero), who was as shady as him.
However, in the current scenario, Thomas has not pursued Hope. He has not condemned Liam. Atkinson’s character has arguably done nothing except allow Hope to make her own decisions and he has become that on B&B.
